This is the Hello Kitty cake that I made for Jessica who turned five a couple of weeks ago. It is a two tier vanilla madeira cake with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam. It has an 8″ bottom tier and a 5″ top tier featuring a model Hello Kitty, serving a minimum of thirty. I am loving these ‘mini-tier’ designs at the moment. I really like the bold colour scheme for this cake – a slight colour shift and it would be liquorice allsorts! Hello Kitty is a very versatile brief as it can be tailored to a younger, fresher design or an older, funkier design. I didn’t get a photograph with the candle on but it was a lovely, matching, white sparkly one and it had pride of place on the bottom tier just within the name.
